Last year, LSC-funded legal organizations assisted more than 312,000 Americans age 60 and up with their legal problems. Issues surrounding wills, power of attorney and advance directives are common for aging Americans, and seniors are often targeted for scams and fraud. These legal crises can exacerbate other stressors, such as rising housing costs and medical issues that can undermine seniors鈥 safety, stability and ability to age in their home with dignity and autonomy.

House Appropriations Subcommittee Proposes 46% Cut to LSC Funding
The House of Representatives Appropriations Subcommittee included $300 million in funding for the 成人抖阴 (LSC) today in their proposed Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies (CJS) Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations legislation. This represents a 46% cut from LSC鈥檚 FY 2025 funding level of $560 million.

成人抖阴 to Host Detroit Forum Focused on Housing Stability
The 成人抖阴 (LSC) will host a Detroit forum on July 15 highlighting ongoing efforts to expand access to civil legal services in Michigan, with a particular emphasis on local housing initiatives. The forum will take place at the DoubleTree Suites, 525 W. Lafayette Blvd., from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. ET. It will also be聽livestreamed on LSC鈥檚 YouTube page.
