In April, LSC published a research brief, “The Economic Case for Civil Legal Aid,” which shows the results of a systematic review of 56 economic impact studies conducted between 2003 and 2023. The independent evaluations examined 39 different states. Every study found a positive return on investment (ROI) for civil legal aid spending, with an average return of $7 for every $1 invested in these legal services. Holly Stevens, Ph.D., joined the ���˶��� in 2021 to assist civil legal aid organizations in using data to improve their services. At LSC, she leads a team of curious and enthusiastic “data people” who comprise the Office of Data Governance and Analysis (ODGA). ODGA was formed in 2016 to help LSC and its grantees use data to inform program improvement, strategic decision-making, and outreach. Karen M. Dale R.N., MSN is the Market President for AmeriHealth Caritas DC, a Medicaid managed care organization. Having held multiple positions of leadership over several decades, Dale has worked with a broad group of stakeholders to address policies and other key factors impacting the delivery of health care services. Dale’s vision for health equity is notably reflected in key programs addressing maternal health, housing, transportation, behavioral health, and food insecurity. She works tirelessly to inspire leaders to create a healthcare ecosystem that promotes wellness without barriers, holistic human- centered approaches, collaborative relationships with providers and community partners, and use alternative payment models to create scalable solutions with positive community, social, clinical and quality impact.

Ronald S. Flagg was appointed President of the ���˶��� effective February 20, 2020, and previously served as Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel since 2013.  He previously practiced commercial and administrative litigation at Sidley Austin LLP for 31 years, 27 years as a partner. He chaired the firm’s Committee on Pro Bono and Public Interest Law for more than a decade.
